PARENTS IN TRANSITION
Is your family experiencing big changes?
- Unsure how to stay connected to your children?
- Unsure how to create your parenting style?
- Are you prepared for what’s next?

There are several major life challenges our families can face. Separation, illness, death, job changes, dealing with developmental issues in our children; any of these can impact how we feel about ourselves and who we are as a parent. Parent coaching can help.
When life throws these at us, emotions understandably run high, and our creative thinking runs low. Instead of responding thoughtfully we tend to default back to old and unhelpful patterns such as responding to our spouse or children from a place of fear or anger.
Challenges of Divorce
While any divorce, where there are children involved, has its fair share of co-parenting challenges, some situations become more conflictual and complex. In these high-conflict scenarios, parent coaching takes on a more specialized role. Our unique training and expertise are designed to address these specific challenges effectively. For parents navigating a high-conflict divorce, we not only help manage the exhaustion of dealing with the legal system but also support you in developing a solo parenting style that works for you. Additionally, we provide guidance on how to effectively parent children who are living between two potentially misaligned households, ensuring they don’t feel caught in the middle.
Our coaching includes strategies for handling intense co-parenting conflicts and explores alternative methods to traditional co-parenting. There can be more effective parenting styles at this juncture to reduce stress and maintain consistency for your children. We focus on mitigating the impact of a conflictual divorce on your children, prioritizing their well-being. Communication strategies are also a key part of our approach, aimed at reducing conflict with the other parent and fostering a more peaceful co-parenting relationship. By addressing these unique aspects, our coaching helps you navigate the complexities of high-conflict divorces while creating a stable and supportive environment for your family.

FAQs
How does Parent coaching work?
Parent coaching is a supportive and collaborative process designed to help parents navigate the challenges of raising children. Through personalized sessions, a parent coach works with you to identify your family’s unique strengths and challenges, set realistic goals, and develop practical strategies to enhance your parenting skills. Whether you’re dealing with everyday issues or more complex family dynamics, parent coaching provides a safe space to explore solutions, gain insights, and build confidence. Together, we work towards creating a more harmonious and fulfilling family life.
Do we attend together?
Parents who live together may find it beneficial to attend coaching sessions together. This approach helps both parents get on the same page and allows the coach to understand each of their unique perspectives, fostering a unified approach to parenting. On the other hand, parents who live apart might prefer to attend sessions separately. This arrangement can make them feel more at ease to share their individual struggles and work on developing their own unique parenting style, tailored to their solo parenting situation. Ultimately, the choice depends on what makes you feel most comfortable and supported in your parenting journey.
What if we are separated or divorced?
For parents who are divorced or separated, it may be more beneficial to attend coaching sessions separately. This approach allows each parent to feel at ease, share their individual struggles, and develop their own unique parenting style tailored to their solo parenting situation. During the tension of the divorce process, attending sessions separately can help keep the focus on you and your parenting, rather than being distracted by any lingering conflicts. Ultimately, the goal is to provide a supportive environment where you can build confidence and find effective strategies that work best for you and your children.
Do you also see my child?
Parent coaching sessions are designed to provide parents with a focused and supportive environment to discuss their challenges, gain insights, and develop effective parenting strategies. By keeping these sessions exclusively for parents, we ensure that the conversation remains centered on your needs and goals. Parents are the leaders of the family, and by strengthening the leaders, we strengthen the entire family. This approach allows parents to speak openly about their concerns and explore solutions in a way that is most productive. The insights and strategies developed during these sessions can then be implemented at home, creating a positive impact on the entire family.
Is parent coaching covered by insurance?
Parent coaching is not covered by insurance because insurance companies typically pay for treatments and services deemed medically necessary, which usually means those associated with specific diagnoses. Unfortunately, parent coaching doesn’t fall under this category, so it is considered an out-of-pocket expense. This is unfortunate, as we know parent coaching can play a crucial role in keeping a family healthy and thriving. Despite the lack of coverage, investing in parent coaching can provide invaluable support and strategies that benefit the entire family.
