A Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) has earned a master’s degree in social work, completed extensive supervised clinical experience, and passed national and state licensing exams. LICSWs are independently licensed to provide psychotherapy, assessment, and diagnosis, and often bring a broad, systems-oriented perspective to mental health care.
